SAN BRUNO, Calif. – San Francisco junior forward Miciah Madison has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
The honor is the second of the season for Madison who was also awarded on September 3.
Madison had a record-breaking weekend for the Dons, helping the team go unbeaten against two teams that began the weekend above San Francisco in the conference standings. The Dons also extended their unbeaten streak to five matches.
For the week, Madison tallied four points, scoring a goal and notching two assists. In the tie against Gonzaga, she notched her 10
th assist of the season, which tied a USF single-season record. Two days later in the 3-2 win over Portland, she broke the record with her 11
th assist coming in the 46
th minute. The 11 assists in a single season breaks Jannik Abel’s old record of 10 which was set in 1994. Madison also scored a goal against Portland, giving her four on the year.
