SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for November 12, 2018. This is the first weekly honor of the 2018-19 season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – RUI HACHIMURA, JR., F – GONZAGA
Junior All-American Rui Hachimura opened the season with a 33-point effort against Idaho State Tuesday. He followed it up with an 17-point outing in a win over Texas Southern Saturday. The junior was 20-of-31 (64.5 percent) from the field and 10-of-14 from the free-throw line this week. He added 10 rebounds. Hachimura’s 33 points were a new career-high. His previous career-high was 25 points versus Ohio State in last season's NCAA Tournament.

Hachimura had 21 points at halftime against Idaho State. The 33 points came in 24 minutes of playing time and were the seventh-most scored on opening night across the country. It was the first game in the McCarthey Athletic Center.

For the weekend, the Preseason All-American averaged 25.0 points, connecting on 64.5% from the field in 22.0 minutes per game.
