SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara senior goalkeeper has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Lowder came up big in weekend matches against No. 1 Stanford and a TCU team that was also receiving votes in the coaches’ poll, going 1-0-1 with one shutout, 15 saves and just one goal against in 200 minutes between the pipes.
On Thursday at home against TCU in a 3-0 win, the senior captain picked up her fourth shutout of the year, making two saves against the Horned Frogs.
Lowder had her best game of the season Sunday at No. 1 Stanford. Against the Cardinal, Lowder made 13 saves, including two crucial ones in overtime, to help lead the Broncos to a 1-1 tie, snapping Stanford's 29-game winning streak.
