SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for December 17, 2018.
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – SHAYLEE GONZALES, FR., G, BYU
In the lone game of the week for BYU, Gonzales led all scorers with a career-high 29 points and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds. She also dished out team bests in assists with four and in steals with three. The 12 made field goals and the 22 attempted field goals are career bests.
With 5:32 left in the third quarter of the game, she had 17 of BYU’s 27 points. Gonzales shot 54.5 percent from the field, 37.5 percent from behind the arc and 50.0 percent from the free-throw line. To date, she has recorded double-digit points in all games, leads the team in points and ranks second in assists and steals.
