SAN BRUNO, Calif. – San Francisco senior goalkeeper Olivia Camera has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Camera played all 270 minutes in goal as the Dons went 3-0-0 on the week with wins against Hawaii, San Diego State and Illinois – all on the road. The senior finished the week with 12 saves and posted clean sheets in the wins against San Diego State and previously unbeaten Illinois.
The shutout against Illinois marked the first time this season that the Illini failed to score a goal and came just two days after Illinois defeated No. 22 Pepperdine in a 3-2 final. Illinois had scored three goals in each of their games before Camera shutout the Big Ten program.
In San Francisco’s win against San Diego State, Camera’s three saves gave her 196 for her career, surpassing Kelly Phole (2006-09) for third all-time in USF history.
