SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Saint Mary’s guard Taycee Wedin has been named the West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, the conference office announced Monday.
Wedin was as guaranteed as a sharp-shooter as you could get this past week as the Saint Mary's Gaels begin the WCC season 4-0, averaging 19.0 points and 2.0 rebounds on 73.3% (11-of-15) shooting through two games.
Wedin only took 15 shots between the two wins against Pepperdine and Loyola Marymount, but she made 11 of those shots, going 10-13 from three-point range. On just 15 shots, she scored a total of 38 points, shooting 73.3% on the week.
