SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its University Credit Union Men’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week for November 30, 2020. This is the first weekly award for the 2020-21 season and the freshman of the week award is a new addition for this year.
UCU #WCCHOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DREW TIMME, SO., F – GONZAGA
Sophomore forward Drew Timme had an impressive opening pair of games for top-ranked Gonzaga. He totaled 53 points on 71 percent shooting from the field (22-of-31). He grabbed 16 rebounds in the season-opening victories in the 2020 Ft. Myers Tip-Off in Ft. Myers, Fla. In the first game of his sophomore season, he scored a game-high 25 points, making 11 of his 15 shots in the win over No. 6 Kansas. The Dallas, Texas, native, followed up that performance with a game-high 28 points in a win over Auburn. He finished with a double-double pulling down 10 boards as well. Timme was clutch from the line in the wins, making eight of his 10 free-throws.

UCU #WCCHOOPS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – JALEN SUGGS, G – GONZAGA
Freshman guard Jalen Suggs had a breakout opening weekend for top-ranked Gonzaga. He burst onto the scene with a total of 36 points on 62.5 percent shooting from the field (15-of-24). In his first collegiate games, the West St. Paul, Minn., native, dished out 14 assists to just three turnovers. He scored 24 points, made eight assists and grabbed four rebounds in his college debut versus No. 6 Kansas. Suggs followed that performance up with 12 points, six assists and four rebounds against Auburn. He added two steals in both Zag victories.
