San Francisco’s Krimili Sweeps UCU WCC Weekly Honors

Freshman averaged 24.0 ppg leading Dons to overtime wins at Cal, vs. Fresno State

SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its University Credit Union Women’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week for December 14, 2020.

Freshman guard Ioanna Krimili was the guiding force of the Dons 2-0 week, which included wins over Cal on the road and a double-overtime thriller against Fresno State at home.  For the week, Krimili averaged 24.0 points per game while shooting .424 from the field and .400 from 3-point range.  At the charity stripe, she was almost automatic, going 14-for-16.  She also grabbed 5.0 rebounds a game and dished out seven assists. 
 
Against the Golden Bears, Krimili finished with 26 points to lead all scorers, giving the Dons their first win over Cal since 2001 and first win against a Pac-12 school in 13 years.  In the win over the Bears, she scored 15 of her 26 points in the fourth quarter helping end the Bears comeback bid.  She followed that up with another solid performance against Fresno State.  She finished with 22 points. 
 
It is the first player of the week honor for Krimili and second straight freshman accolade
