SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its University Credit Union Men’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week for December 7, 2020.
 
UCU #WCCHOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ANDREW NEMBHARD, JR., G – GONZAGA
Against No. 11 West Virginia in the 2020 Jimmy V Classic in Indianapolis, junior guard Andrew Nembhard scored a season-high 19 points off of the bench in a win for No. 1 Gonzaga. He made eight of his 14 shots from the field in 35 minutes. He dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds.

UCU #WCCHOOPS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – LEEMET BÖCKLER, G – SAINT MARY’S
Freshman guard Leemet Böckler had a perfect shooting night against Nicholls in the Gaels' first game of the week going 2-for-2 from 3-point range as well as 2-for-2 from the free throw line for eight points in 12 minutes off the bench.
 
The Estonain came alive for SMC against Texas Southern with 20 points, including 6-of-7 shooting on three's, to lead the team. Böckler went 5-of-5 from deep in the first half and hit four treys in a span of 80 seconds late in the half to put the Gaels ahead of the Tigers and give them a lead they would not relinquish. All told, the freshman shot 81 percent from the field during the week, hit eight of nine three's, and averaged 14 points per game.
