SAN MATEO, Calif. – Gonzaga’s Andrew Nembhard earned his first WCC Player of the Week honor of the season and Pepperdine’s Mike Mitchell Jr. claimed WCC Freshman of the Week recognition.

#WCCSPORTS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ANDREW NEMBHARD, SR., G – GONZAGA
Andrew Nembhard played all 40 minutes and stuffed the stat sheet to lead No. 5 Gonzaga to a 69-55 win over No. 25/24 Texas Tech at the Jerry Colangelo Classic in Phoenix, Arizona. Nembhard totaled 16 points, four rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block to earn Jerry Colangelo Classic Player of the Game honors. For Nembhard, his 40 minutes and four made 3-pointers were season highs. It marked Gonzaga’s second win over a to-25 team this season.

#WCCSPORTS FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – MIKE MITCHELL JR., FR., G – PEPPERDINE
Mike Mitchell Jr. led Pepperdine to its third-straight win, totaling 11 points, six assists and three steals for the Waves in an 83-77 home victory over Southeast Missouri. That raised his season averages to 8.2 points and a WCC-leading 5.1 assists per game. He had a plus-minus of +11 in the six-point win, tied for the best in the contest.
