SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its University Credit Union Women’s Basketball Player and Freshman of the Week for March 1, 2021. These are the final weekly honors of the 2020-21 season.
UCU #WCCHOOPS PLAYER OF THE WEEK – HAYLEE ANDREWS, JR., G - PORTLAND
Junior point guard Haylee Andrews averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds and 9.5 assists in leading the Pilots to a pair of thrilling home wins against Loyola Marymount and Pepperdine last week. Andrews erupted for a career-high 31 points to go with seven rebounds, nine assists and three steals in Portland’s come-from-behind overtime win against Pepperdine on Saturday.
The Pilots trailed by 15 early in the fourth quarter, but Andrews willed the team to victory with numerous clutch plays down the stretch. She had nine points, four rebounds, four assists and two steals in the fourth period alone and then outscored the Waves herself with six overtime points to give the Pilots a 101-94 victory. Andrews finished the game 12-of-22 from the field.
In Thursday’s 73-63 win against LMU, Andrews logged her third double-double of the season with 21 points, 10 assists and six rebounds. The Townsville, Australia native went 7-for-16 from the field, collected a steal and scored eight fourth quarter points to secure the win.
This is the second player of the week selection for Andrews this season.

For the week, Krimili was 6-for-12 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. She was a perfect 12-for-12 from the charity stripe. She also had five rebounds and three assists. The three 3-point field goals, gives her 81 for the year, just three shy of cracking the WCC’s top-10 in a single-season.
