SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its Women’s Soccer All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 spring season. This year’s 11-member first team encompasses WCC student-athletes who excelled both on the pitch and in the classroom.
Six women’s soccer programs placed at least one student-athlete on the first team led by three apiece from 2020-21 NCAA Tournament participant BYU and 2020-21 NCAA National Champion Santa Clara. Pepperdine placed a pair on the first team.
This year’s squad features two repeat appearances led Pepperdine’s
Madi Cook and San Diego’s
Sami Fairweather.
No fewer than 81 women’s soccer student-athletes qualified for academic honors. Nearly 50 posted a GPA of at least 3.50, while 23 posted marks of 3.75 or better.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
