SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Women’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for September 20, 2021.
#WCCSPORTS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TORI WALDECK, SO., M – PEPPERDINE
Sophomore midfielder Tori Waldeck helped Pepperdine improve to 9-1 start and provided a tremendous boost on last week’s Texas road trip. Waldeck scored the game-winning and only goal at No. 5 TCU and fired five shots against the Horned Frogs. Sunday, Waldeck registered an assist on the Waves’ only goal at Texas A&M. For the weekend, Waldeck collected a total of six shots through two games and three points in two games and four out of her six shots through two games were on target. For the year the sophomore owns a .667 shots on goal percentage.
This is the third straight WCC weekly offensive honor for Pepperdine through five weeks.

#WCCSPORTS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – LYZA BOSSELMANN, SO., GK – GONZAGA
Sophomore goalkeeper Lyza Bosselmann recorded back-to-back shutouts in Gonzaga's sixth and seventh straight victories, matching the program's longest ever win streak. In a 1-0 shutout at Arizona, Bosselmann collected three saves while facing nine shots from the Wildcats. Sunday at New Mexico State, the sophomore recorded a pair of saves in a dominating 4-0 decision at altitude.
Bosselmann and the Zags have posted seven shutouts this season. GU is off to a program record 9-1-0 start to the season.
This is the first Defensive Player of the Week honor for a Zag this season and the second weekly honor overall in 2021 for Gonzaga.
