SAN MATEO, Calif. – For the second week in a row BYU swept weekly honors this week. Forward Daviana Vaka was named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, while her teammate, forward Allie Freyer, won the UCU WCC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, as the Conference announced its weekly honors on Monday.
UCU WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – ALLIE FREYER, F., F – BYU
The freshman forward scored a brace against Pepperdine to get the 4-3 win on the road and tallied the winning goal against Gonzaga. This effort helped elevate the BYU to second in the WCC and improved the Cougars to 4-0-2 in conference play. Freyer is now tied with two other teammates for the second most goals this season with six.

UCU WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DAVIANA VAKA, SO., F – BYU
In their 2-1 victory over Gonzaga, forward Vaka's effort on both sides of the pitch helped elevate BYU to second place in the conference. Her strong performance on defense could not be missed, even during a rainy evening game at home in Provo. She tallied an assist on the game-winning shot, along with a save on the goal line during the 75th minute.
