Quinonez and Nicolos Take Home Women's Soccer Weekly Honors

Quinonez named Offensive Player of the Week, Nicolos collects Defensive Player of the Week honors

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Pepperdine’s Julia Quinonez collected University Credit Union West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season, while Santa Clara’s Marlee Nicolos took home University Credit Union West Coast Conference Defensive Player of the Week laurels, as the Conference announced its women’s soccer weekly awards on Monday.

UNIVERSITY CREDIT UNION WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JULIA QUINONEZ, FR., F – PEPPERDINE
Quinonez scored a goal in each game to guide Pepperdine to an undefeated week. The Waves posted a 2-1 win against Pacific, and a 3-0 victory over Saint Mary’s. The freshman registered her first career goal, also adding an assist, in the win over the Gaels. Quinonez found the back of the net in the 13th minute against the Tigers earlier in the week. She finished the week with five points on two goals and an assist.

It was Quinonez’s second offensive weekly honor and Pepperdine’s third as a team (Tatum Wynalda) this season. The Waves have four weekly awards overall this season, as Taylor Rath was named the WCC Defensive Player of the Week on Aug. 28.
