SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Tess Heal of Santa Clara and Dyani Ananiev of Portland are the Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference women’s basketball weekly awards honorees, the league announced on Monday, Nov. 20. Heal was voted the league’s player of the week, while Ananiev garnered freshman of the week accolades.
CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – TESS HEAL, SO., G – SANTA CLARA
Heal averaged 20 points and lead all scorers in a pair of wins over Pac-12 and Big West opponents last weekend. Heal led all scorers with 19 points and added five assists in a 32-point win over CSUN. She helped put Santa Clara on notice knocking off an unbeaten Oregon on the road. Heal had a game-high 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting in the Broncos 39-point blowout. The 39-point margin of victory was Santa Clara's largest-ever over a Pac-12 opponent.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – DYANI ANANIEV, FR., F – PORTLAND
Ananiev scored 20 points against both Seattle U and Warner Pacific, helping Portland cruise to blowout wins. She also averaged three steals and nearly two blocks (1.5) across two games. The freshman was efficient with her time on the floor getting it done in under 20 minutes. She is the first Pilot to score 20 points in a game this year. Ananiev is the first true freshman to score 20 points in a game since the 2020-21 season for Portland. Her six threes against Seattle U were the most by a Pilot freshman since 2005.
