SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Helping extend Santa Clara's current winning streak to seven games, Santa Clara's Brandin Podziemski was once again named the University Credit Union West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, sharing the honor with LMU's Cam Shelton. For the second time in three weeks, Pepperdine's Jevon Porter won UCU WCC Freshman of the Week.
UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – BRANDIN PODZIEMSKI, SO., G – SANTA CLARA
Brandin Podziemski tallied back-to-back double-doubles once again to lead the Broncos to their sixth and seventh-straight wins to close out the regular season. On the week, he averaged 24.5 points, 14.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists and one steal over the two games., shooting a combined 58.8 percent from the floor (20-34) and 50 percent from 3-point range (7-14). Podziemski scored 23 points and a career high-tying 18 rebounds in SCU's win over Pepperdine, adding four assists, a steal and a block, and was 10-of-21 shooting against the Waves. He followed that up with a 26-point, 10-rebound double-double on the road against San Diego, shooting 10-of-13 (76.9 percent) and 5-of-7 from 3-point range against the Toreros, adding five assists and a steal. His efforts extended his double-double streak to four-straight games and has a WCC-best 12 on the year. This is Podziemski's fourth UCU WCC Player of the Week honor and his second straight.
UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAM SHELTON, SR., G – LMU
Cam Shelton notched his fourth 30-plus point game over his last five played last Saturday against Pepperdine. The Lions needed Shelton to have a huge second half after trailing at intermission, and Shelton scored 25 of his game-high 32 points in the second half to help LMU complete the comeback win. Shelton hit 10 field goals in the game, shot 60 percent from three, dished out four assists and recorded three steals in the regular season finale. This is Shelton's third UCU WCC Player of the Week honor this season.

UCU WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – JEVON PORTER, F – PEPPERDINE
In two double-digit scoring outings this week, Porter notched his eighth-total double-double at Santa Clara and remains the only freshman in the WCC to have achieved that feat. Porter averaged 12 points, 8.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks on the week, while averaging 12.1 points and a team-high 7.3 rebounds on the year.
