SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – For the second straight week, Portland's Camille Ashe claimed University Credit Union West Coast Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week this week. San Francisco's Marissa Vasquez claimed University Credit Union WCC Offensive Player of the Week after picking up two goals last weekend.
UNIVERSITY CREDIT UNION WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MARISSA VASQUEZ, JR., MF – SAN FRANCISCO
Vasquez recorded her third career brace in San Francisco's 2-0 shutout over Saint Mary's on Saturday. Beginning the scoring in the 19th minute, Vasquez passed to Ellie Weissenberg off a corner kick before Weissenberg delivered it back to Vasquez, who then used the perfect touch with her right foot to put it past the Saint Mary's keeper and give the Dons a 1-0 lead. As the first half came to a close, the junior netted her second goal of the night on an assist from Kaitlyn Sasaduesz as Vasquez danced through the opposing defense before burying the strike to double up the Gaels, 2-0, through the first 45 minutes of play. This is USF's first Conference weekly honor this season.

UNIVERSITY CREDIT UNION WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CAMILLE ASHE, SR., D – PORTLAND
Ashe played the full 90 minutes along the backline in Portland's 4-0 win over Pacific, holding the Tigers to only five shots, all of them off target thanks to Ashe's stellar defense as the anchor. The Pilots recorded their sixth shutout in a row and eighth of the season, the second most in the nation., and also lead the nation in goals-against average (.200). This is the fourth straight week in which Portland has won WCC defensive player of the week honors.
