Heal, Aokuso Garner WCC Women’s Basketball Player Of The Week Honors

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Tess Heal from Santa Clara and Zeryhia-Lee Aokuso of Saint Mary's are the Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced on Tuesday following New Year Day. Heal was voted the Conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Aokuso was voted the league's Freshman of the Week for the second time this season.

Tess Heal led Santa Clara to a 65-55 win over Arizona State last week. She had a game-high 23 points and added seven rebounds and three assists in the road victory. It was the Broncos' second win over a Pac-12 opponent on the season, which hadn't been done since 1993-94.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ZERYHIA-LEE AOKUSO, G – SAINT MARY'S
Zeryhia-Lee Aokuso finished in double figures last week in Saint Mary's 70-52 win over San Jose State. She had 10 points, three offensive rebounds, and a game-best seven assists in the game. Aokuso leads the Gaels in scoring average (9.9 ppg) and has scored in double figures in the last three of five games.
