Coward And McKeever Win WCC Men’s Basketball Weekly Honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Following a 30-point performance, Cedric Coward of Washington State won Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors. For the second straight week a Gael won Credit Union 1 WCC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week with the honor going to Andrew McKeever this week. 
 
CREDIT UNION 1 WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – CEDRIC COWARD, SR., G – WASHINGTON STATE
Cedric Coward recorded a career-high 30 points in Washington State's win over Northern Colorado, followed by a 22-point performance against his former school, Eastern Washington. Coward added nine rebounds, seven assists, two blocks and a steal in the win over the Eagles. Over two games, Coward shot 19-of-30 (.633) from the floor, including 5-of-11 from three-point distance (.455). This is the first Conference weekly award for the Cougars.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC MEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ANDREW MCKEEVER, FR., C – SAINT MARY'S
In his collegiate debut, Andrew McKeever scored 10 points and hauled in seven rebounds, shooting 83 percent from the field against Stanislaus State. McKeever became the second freshman to debut this season with a double-digit showing for the Gaels, joining teammate and true freshman Mikey Lewis, last week's Credit Union 1 WCC Men's Basketball Freshman of the Week. This is the second straight weekly award for SMC.
