SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After winning the 2024 West Coast Conference Volleyball Championship for the first time since 1996, LMU is headed to the 2024 NCAA Tournament, as the field was announced Sunday afternoon by the NCAA. The Lions will play Washington in the Stanford regional. If the Lions beat the Huskies, they will face the winner of host and No. 2 seed Stanford and Sacramento State.
LMU and Washington will meet Friday at 4:30 p.m.
The WCC now owns 103 berths all-time in the NCAA Tournament. The Conference has appeared in the Final Four four times, most recently represented by San Diego in 2022.
LMU will be making its second appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the last three years. LMU only lost twice in WCC matches en route to earning the NCAA automatic qualifer and advancing to the NCAA Tournament.
LMU ended the regular season winning its last three in a row and finishing with an overall record of 24.5
This will be the first meeting between LMU and Washington.
The WCC will feature three teams competing in the postseason. Pacific and Washington State earned bids into the NIVC Tournament. The appearanced marks the ninth straight season in which Washington State will compete in the postseason.
