SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Santa Clara’ Olivia Pollerd and Gonzaga’s Allie Turner put on impressive shooting displays in the opening week of the 2024-25 women’s basketball season to capture Credit Union 1 WCC Player of the Week and WCC Freshman of the Week honors, respectively. These mark the first career WCC weekly awards for both student-athletes.
 
CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – OLIVIA POLLERD, SR. – SANTA CLARA
Olivia Pollerd, a returning All-WCC First Team honoree, averaged 26.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks while leading Santa Clara to wins over UC Riverside and Fresno State in the opening week of competition. She was 20-of-39 from the field and 11-of-20 from 3-point range while attempting just three free throws during her high-scoring week. In the season opener against UC Riverside, Pollerd totaled 21 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. On Saturday at Fresno State, Pollerd scored a career-best 31 points while connecting on six of her nine attempts from downtown to help the Broncos secure the 67-61 win.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – ALLIE TURNER, FR. – GONZAGA
In her first week of college basketball, Allie Turner averaged 18.0 points while shooting a sizzling 60.0 percent from the field and 64.3 percent on 3-pointers. She also averaged 6.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game. Turner posted identical stat lines of 18 points and six rebounds in a win over Montana on Tuesday and a loss at Stanford on Sunday. She was 5-of-8 from the beyond the arc against the Grizzlies and 4-of-6 against the Cardinal.
