SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Sensational performances from Tess Heal of Santa Clara and Dyani Ananiev from Portland led to them being named the Credit Union 1 WCC Women's Basketball Players of the Week, the league announced on Monday. Heal was voted Player of the Week for the fourth time this season, while Ananiev earned her seventh Freshman of the Week honor.

Tess Heal averaged 22.0 points per game and 6.5 assists per game last week as Santa Clara posted double-digit wins over San Diego and Saint Mary’s. Heal joined the 1,000-point club with 29 points in Thursday’s win over San Diego. She reached the milestone mark in her 57th career game, becoming the second-fastest active Division I player to score 1,000 points. Heal then went 5-for-7 from the field against Saint Mary's, shooting 71.4 percent from the field and 66.7 percent from behind the arc.

CREDIT UNION 1 WCC WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – DYANI ANANIEV, F – PORTLAND
Dyani Ananiev led the Pilots in scoring in two wins this past week, scoring 16 points against LMU and 19 points against Pepperdine. Ananiev was highly efficient, as well, shooting 53.8 percent overall and 50 percent from three-point rage across both games. Fourteen of her 16 points against LMU came in the second half, jumpstarting the second-half comeback for Portland. Ananiev averaged three steals across both games, including four against LMU, and led all WCC freshmen in scoring for the week. Ananiev has won the most CU1 WCC Freshman of the Week honors this season with seven.
