Maxwell, Truong Selected In 2024 WNBA Draft

Maxwell was the 13th pick overall

BROOKLYN, NY – The West Coast Conference had two second-round draft selections in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Brynna Maxwell of Gonzaga led the way for the Conference when the Chicago Sky selected the sharpshooter with the 13th overall pick before the Washington D.C. Mystics selected GU's Kaylynne Truong the 2023 WCC Player of the Year with the 21st overall pick. 

Maxwell played two years at Gonzaga and received All-WCC First Team honors in both seasons. In her first year with the Bulldogs, she led the nation in three-point shooting percentage for most of the season and finished with 87 made threes. During Maxwell's final year as a Zag, she made a three-pointer in every single game and concluded the season with a record-breaking 96 threes, the most in the WCC this season. She finished her career with 1,978 points and 377 three-pointers while shooting at 42.7% from beyond the arc. Her career three-pointers made (377) are a Conference best and her career three-point shooting percentage (42.7%) is second in WCC history.

The Chicago Sky will begin their season on Saturday, May 4, against the Minnesota Lynx.

Truong played five seasons at Gonzaga and was the 2023 WCC Player of the Year, an AP All-American honorable mention selection, and a two-time All-WCC First Team honoree. Truong amassed 623 career assists, 1,508 career points, and 161 career games played - the most games in GU history.

The Washington Mystics open their season on Saturday, May 4 against the Atlanta Dream.
