SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Kennedy Johnson from Saint Mary's women's basketball was the featured guest on this week's edition of the WCC POINTS IN THE PAINT women's basketball podcast with hosts Mary Murphy and Ann Schatz.
Saint Mary's currently stands in first place in the West Coast Conference women's basketball standings at 4-0. Johnson discussed Saint Mary's strong play thus far this season and how quickly they became a cohesive unit together.
"Every day in practice we learn to work together. We take the time outside of practice to build chemistry and be around each other. After film sessions we sit down with Jeff [Cammon] and we get to know each other. He asks us to point out our strengths of our teammates and vice versa. It's those little things that help build that chemistry really quickly." - Kennedy Johnson.
Murphy and Schatz preview this week's matchup for the Gaels with the other upstart WCC squad, San Francisco.
After Oregon State handed Portland its first loss of the season, Murphy and Schatz analyzed the game and how pivotal Kelsey Rees was in the Beavers' win.
