SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Scoring 29 points in against UC Santa Barbara last week and extending LMU's season-opening win streak to six games, LMU's Myron Amey Jr. won West Coast Conference Player of the Week. Joel Foxwell from Portland won West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week for the second time this season. 

WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – MYRON AMEY JR, SR., G – LMU
Myron "MJ" Amey, Jr. (Vacaville, Calif.) propelled the Lions to a 6-0 record with his performance on the road at UC Santa Barbara last week. Amey scored a game-high 29 points to erase a 14-point second half deficit and force overtime. He tallied 19 of his points in the second half after shooting 7-for-12 from the field and 4-for-5 from three. His game totals included shooting 11-for-19 from the field (57.9 percent) and 6-for-7 from three (85.7 percent). Amey Jr.'s six treys set a career high. This is LMU's first conference weekly award this season.

WEST COAST CONFERENCE MEN'S BASKETBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK – JOEL FOXWELL, FR., G – PORTLAND
Joel Foxwell (Melbourne, Australia) nearly obtained a pair of triple-doubles in three games and was also named to the Portland Invitational All-Tournament Team. Foxwell averaged 14.7 points, 7.3 rebounds and 7.3 assists while playing 35.3 minutes per game. He shot 49 percent from the field and 44 percent from three-point range. Foxwell collected 24 points, seven rebounds, four assists and two steals in a 103-85 win against Cal State Fullerton. He followed that performance with nine points, eight rebounds, 10 assists and two steals in an overtime loss to Northern Colorado. Foxwell capped the weekend with 11 points, seven rebounds and eight assists against St. Thomas on Sunday. Foxwell has now won two of the three conference Freshman of the Week awards this season.
