Seeds Set for West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Tournament

No. 6 Pacific earns West Coast Conference co-regular season title and tournament's top seed

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Seeds for the 2025 West Coast Conference Men’s Water Polo Tournament are set. The West Coast Conference Tournament will take place this coming Friday through Sunday, Nov. 21-23, at Cadet Natatorium at the Cadet Gymnasium at USAFA, Colo.
 
The tournament begins with three matches on Friday (Nov. 21), followed by two semifinal contests on Saturday (Nov. 22) and the championship match on Sunday (Nov. 23). All six games will be broadcast live on ESPN+. Pacific, ranked sixth in the latest Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) national rankings, earned the No. 1 seed in the West Coast Conference Tournament after defeating California Baptist, 14-11, on Nov. 2 to complete the conference regular season 5-1 and earn co-West Coast Conference regular season champions with San José State. The Tigers are 15-7 overall with five wins over nationally ranked opponents, including three top-ten victories. 
 
San José State, No. 10 in the CWPA national poll and least year's runner-up in the conference championship, is the No. 2 seed with a 5-1 conference record. The Spartans collected co-West Coast Conference regular season champions after defeating California Baptist 14-7 last Saturday. San José State enters the tournament 11-7 overall with 8 wins over nationally ranked opponents, four of which were top-ten wins.  
 
Pepperdine will be the No. 3 seed with a 3-3 conference mark. The Waves are ranked No. 9 nationally with a 16-10 overall record, including the current conference-leading active win streak of 5 wins. Pepperdine also has 10 wins over ranked opponents this season. 
 
The No. 4 seed is LMU. The Lions, who rank 12th in the latest CWPA poll, finished the conference slate 3-3. LMU posted a 13-11 overall mark during the regular season, which includes wins over eight nationally ranked teams.
 
California Baptist (No. 5), Santa Clara (No. 6) and Air Force (No. 7) round out the conference tournament seedings. The Lancers posted a 3-3 conference record and are No. 16 in the country, while the Broncos recorded a 2-4 West Coast Conference record and sit No. 17 nationally and Air Force finished 0-6 in conference play.
