FOUR TEAMS RANKED HIGH IN NET AND KENPOM
West Coast Conference men’s basketball maintains four teams in the top 85 of the Sunday’s latest NET rankings, led by No. 3 Gonzaga and No. 17 Saint Mary’s, along with No. 61 Santa Clara and No. 81 Pacific. Ranked No. 8 among conferences in KenPom, the West Coast Conference also features four teams in the top 100 in the latest KenPom rankings. Gonzaga stands at No. 2 with Saint Mary’s at No. 32, Santa Clara at No. 64 and San Francisco at No. 94.
IKE LEADS BULLDOGS OVER BRUINS
No. 8 Gonzaga improved to 10-1 and added another ranked victory to its resume when the Bulldogs beat No. 25 UCLA, 82-72 Saturday night in Seattle. Graham Ike led the way with 25 points and five assists. Gonzaga has now beaten four teams ranked in the AP top 25, and on the season, the Zags rank No. 6 in the nation in margin of victory (26.0). According to ESPN, Gonzaga ranks No. 7 in strength of record and No. 9 in strength of schedule.
FOXWELL TIES SCHOOL ASSISTS RECORD
Portland’s Joel Foxwell tied the program single-game record with 15 assists in the Pilots’ 88-78 win over Kent State (NET No. 137) on Saturday, snapping the Golden Flashes nine-game winning streak. Foxwell added 11 points, giving him his second double-double of the season. The assist total also ranks tied for third in the nation among single-game bests this season. The win also marked three in a row at home for Portland.
CLARK POSTS 25 POINTS IN WAVES ROAD WIN
Pepperdine’s Aaron Clark scored 25 points, tying Ike for a Conference-best scoring total this week, during the Waves’ 70-62 victory at Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday. Clark added a career-high five steals with three rebounds and three assists. The five steals are a season best for the Waves, as well. The win marked the first road victory for Pepperdine since beating San Diego on the road last January.

West Coast Conference men’s basketball can be seen on national television and streaming apps three times this week. On Friday, Seattle U battles in-state foe Washington at 8:30 p.m. on ESPN2. On Sunday, Oregon State heads to Tempe, Ariz., to face Arizona State at noon on ESPN2. Shortly after that game concludes, Gonzaga battles Oregon at 3 p.m. on Peacock. The Ducks will also host Portland on the Big Ten Network on Wednesday at 8 p.m.

BEST START IN 25 YEARS FOR PEPPERDINE
Pepperdine defeated CSU Los Angeles on Saturday for its third straight victory. The Waves, with an entirely new roster this year, are now 7-2 on the season for their best nine-game start in 25 years. Defending West Coast Conference Player of the Week Shorna Preston posted her third consecutive double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Pepperdine win. She also added four blocks in the contest.
Second-year head coach Katie Faulkner said of the historic start “This start is special, and it speaks to everyone involved: players, staff, and the culture we're building. The process matters to us, and nights like this are a byproduct of people doing their job the right way, together.”
The Waves will look to extend their winning streak as they host the inaugural Malibu Classic Tuesday through Thursday. They face North Dakota State Tuesday and the University of South Dakota Wednesday.
SENSATIONAL SOPHIE
Santa Clara forward Sophie Glancey, who is on the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Preseason Watch List, scored a season-high 29 points with eight rebounds in Sunday’s win at Grand Canyon. The 29 points matched the most scored by an individual in the West Coast Conference in a game this season. Gonzaga’s Lauren Whittaker posted 29 points against Colorado State on Nov. 13. Glancey was a perfect 13-for-13 from the free throw line in Sunday’s win, marking just the fifth time in program history a Bronco was perfect from the free throw line with at least 13 attempts.
GAELS AT THE TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN
Saint Mary’s is 8-4 on the season with three straight wins following Wednesday’s 60-57 triumph over Fresno State. With the win over Fresno State, the Gaels are a perfect 5-0 against Mountain West Conference teams this season Three of those wins were on the road – Wyoming, San Jose State and Grand Canyon. SMC also defeated Nevada at home on Nov. 16.
SAN DIEGO SWAT TOTAL IS BEST IN 12 YEARS
In San Diego’s 63-56 victory over UC Riverside Sunday, the Toreros recorded 10 blocks. The block total is the most in a game in more than 10 years when they had 11 against Seattle U on Dec. 8, 2013.
PORTLAND’S RECORD SECOND HALF AGAINST THE BEACH
Portland scored 63 points in the second half in its victory over Long Beach State on Thursday. It was the Pilots’ highest point total in a single half against a Division I opponent ever. Portland outscored Long Beach State, 63-30, in the half. Freshman Julia Dalan totaled four blocks in the game and leads the nation, averaging 3.6 blocks per contest.
OSU AND UNDEFEATED ASU STAGE OVERTIME THRILLER
In a wild contest in Corvallis Sunday, Oregon State fell just short of knocking off undefeated Arizona State. The Beavers erased an eight-point deficit with less than three minutes left in regulation, tying the game in the final seconds . With the score tied and 1.5 seconds remaining, Jenna Villa took the inbounds pass and quickly shot it from three-point range. Her shot rimmed out as time expired, as both teams played their first overtime game of the season. The back and forth continued with the Sun Devils outlasting the Beavers, 55-53. Oregon State came the closest to handing ASU its first loss of the season, with the two-point differential the lowest for the Sun Devils in their 12 wins. Next up for Arizona State is Gonzaga, as the teams will battle in Spokane on Tuesday.
POWER OUTAGE HALTS PACIFIC-NEVADA CONTEST IN OT
A power outage at Lawler Events Center on the campus of the University of Nevada in Reno brought the game between Pacific and Nevada to an end Saturday. There was less than a minute left in overtime between the Tigers and Wolfpack when the power went out. The game was ruled and interrupted contest and a winner was not declared.
