Moira Sweeney Elevated To Senior Director, Social Content and Marketing

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – West Coast Conference Commissioner Stu Jackson has announced the promotion of Moira Sweeney to a newly created position of Senior Director, Social Content and Marketing.

Sweeney joined the West Coast Conference in 2020 as the Assistant Director of Digital Strategy and Operations. She was promoted to Director of Digital Strategy and Branding in 2022, where she added management of all branding initiatives and compliance, and game entertainment. In her new role, she will oversee all content, social media strategy, marketing, sponsorship fulfillment, branding, licensing and merchandise. She will manage a team of content creators, who will work collaboratively with our membership to execute coverage of events and share the stories from around the conference.

“National exposure and brand visibility are critical in the collegiate space,” Jackson said. “Moira Sweeney is a thought leader who will provide direction to our operations in content and marketing to create broad exposure for the Conference and I am thrilled to elevate her to this new role to lead these important initiatives. With Moira’s creative direction and focus in these areas, we will focus on enhancing the West Coast Conference brand and amplifying the great accomplishments of our student-athletes and position the West Coast Conference as one of the premier conferences in the nation.”

Sweeney will continue to work closely with the West Coast Conference’s multimedia rights partner, Van Wagner, to incorporate the Conference’s corporate partners in social strategy, with a presence on conference-owned digital platforms and robust visibility at championship events. She continues to build on the West Coast Conference’s marketing efforts with digital strategies to generate ticket sales for championship events.

Sweeney’s appointment to this new role is immediate.
