BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Two-time All-American Yvonne Ejim, who recently completed her standout career at Gonzaga, was selected by the Indiana Fever with the 33rd pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft.
Ejim completed her Gonzaga career as the program’s record holder in career points (2,385), career rebounds (1,140) and career field goals (970). Her career scoring total is second in West Coast Conference history and her career rebounding total is third in WCC history. Ejim finished second in WCC history in career scoring (1,223) and fifth in career rebounding (565) in conference games. She is the first player in West Coast Conference history to record at least 2,000 career points and 1,000 career rebounds. Her 726 points this season were a Gonzaga single-season record and ranked second in conference history.
Ejim was voted the West Coast Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year each of the last two seasons. She was named an honorable mention All-American by for the second straight year by both the Associated Press and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). Ejim was also a finalist for the Becky Hammon Player of the Year Award and the Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year Award. She was on the watch list for the Wooden Award and Naismith Award. She was also named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team and the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
A native of Calgary, Alberta, Ejim represented her country on Canada’s Olympic team in the 2024 games.
Ejim’s selection marks the second year in a row at least one West Coast Conference player was selected in the WNBA Draft. Ejim’s teammates, Brynna Maxwell (13th overall pick) and Kaylynne Truong (21st overall pick), were each selected in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft. Ejim is the ninth Gonzaga player and the 15th West Coast Conference player to be selected in the WNBA Draft’s history. Former Gonzaga star Courtney Vandersloot was the highest West Coast Conference player selected when she was drafted third overall in the 2011 WNBA Draft. Vandersloot, who is a five-time WNBA All-Star and two-time WNBA Champion, is currently a member of the Chicago Sky.
