SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has announced its 2025-26 women’s basketball conference schedule. The conference will play an 18-game unbalanced schedule for the first time in league history.
The 18-game conference slate will be contested over 10 weeks, beginning Sunday, Dec. 28, and concluding Saturday, Feb. 28. Each of the 12 programs will play four opponents once and seven opponents twice.
The opening day of league play on Dec. 28 features a full schedule of six games, as Seattle U plays its first West Coast Conference women’s basketball game when it travels to Pacific. The 2024-25 co-regular season champions, Portland and Gonzaga, will meet twice during the year. The first matchup will take place Saturday, Jan. 10 in Spokane. The second meeting will be on the final day of the regular season on Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Rose City. Portland and Oregon State will battle twice in the month of February in a rematch of the 2025 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship title game. The Pilots and Beavers will square off in Portland on Saturday, Feb. 7 and will meet again in Corvallis on Thursday, Feb. 19.
The 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship returns to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 18th consecutive year. The 12-team tournament will be held from March 5-10, 2026.
The West Coast Conference is coming off a banner year in 2024-25. Six programs earned selections to postseason tournaments, matching a conference record. Oregon State represented the conference in the NCAA Tournament, while Portland and Gonzaga each advanced to the quarterfinals of the Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament. Pacific, Saint Mary’s and Washington State were each selected to the Women’s National Invitation Tournament.
The conference boasted three All-Americans last season, including Gonzaga’s Allie Turner. The 2025 West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year and first team all-conference selection headlines the Zags’ roster this season. She broke the program’s single-season record and finished second on the West Coast Conference’s single-season list with 105 three-pointers last year. Gonzaga head coach Lisa Fortier enters the 2025-26 season tied for second on the West Coast Conference all-time wins list for conference games with 171. She stands 16 wins shy of the conference record.
Portland enjoyed a record-breaking year last season. The Pilots finished 31-5 overall, setting a program record for overall wins.
The full schedule with game times and broadcast information will be announced later this fall.
