WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KENNEDIE SHULER, JR., G, – OREGON STATE
Kennedie Shuler (Gresham, Ore.) nearly posted a triple double to lead Oregon State to a 92-87 overtime win over Gonzaga last Thursday in a battle of conference leaders. Oregon State’s victory gave the Beavers sole possession of first place in the West Coast Conference standings with a 7-1 league mark. Shuler finished with 17 points, 10 steals and nine assists. The junior guard also contributed five rebounds and three blocks in the victory. Shuler is one of four West Coast Conference players since at least the 1999-2000 season to record a double-double with points and steals. The other three players to record a double-double with steals are Amanda Rego of San Diego (10 points, 10 steals and 10 assists vs. San Francisco on Feb. 9, 2008), Courtney Vandersloot of Gonzaga (20 points, 11 steals vs. South Dakota State on Nov. 13, 2009) and Haiden Palmer of Gonzaga (14 points and 10 steals vs. Iowa State on March 23, 2013). Shuler was the first West Coast Conference player to record at least 10 steals in a game since Palmer’s 10-steal performance on March 23, 2013.
This is the first West Coast Conference weekly honor for Shuler. She ranks second in the conference in assists (5.7 apg), third in steals (2.1 spg) and eighth in blocks (1.0 bpg).

Whittaker’s career-best 37 points last Thursday against Oregon State tied a program record for most points in a game and set the program record for most points in a game by a freshman. The point total is the most in a game by a West Coast Conference player since LMU’s Naudia Evans also had 37 in a win over Washington State on Jan. 25, 2025. It’s the most by a freshman in the conference since Tess Heal recorded 39 points for Santa Clara against BYU on Feb. 16, 2023.
Whittaker added 14 rebounds for her 11th double-double of the season, the most of any freshman nationally and tied for the 10th-most in the country overall. The freshman finished 12-of-26 from the field (.462) overall and was 12-of-14 (.857) from the free throw line in the overtime defeat to Oregon State.
