SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has finalized its 16-game men’s basketball conference schedule for the 2026-27 season. This season’s format features 10 programs playing an unbalanced slate of 16 league contests tipping off on Jan. 2.
With the addition of Denver this season, the WCC will have each of its 10 members playing seven home-and-away series with one only-home opponent and one only-away opponent to make up the 16-game schedule.
The 2026-27 WCC schedule has games on five days of the week to create flexibility for longtime national television partners ESPN and CBS Sports. Eight such contests have been chosen to flex off the Wednesday/Saturday cadence to Tuesday (four), Thursday (two) or Sunday (two) this season.
The
2027 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championships return to Orleans Arena in Las Vegas for the 19th consecutive year. The reformatted 10-team, nine-game, four-round tournaments will be held March 5-9, 2027.
Game times and contests selected for national linear broadcast by ESPN and CBS Sports will be announced at a later date. WCC men’s basketball regular-season home games that are not nationally televised on ESPN or CBS Sports Network, will be available on
ESPN+, the leading sports streaming service.
Along with the arrival of Denver and second-year head coach Tim Bergstraser to the league, the WCC will also welcome three new head coaches for the 2026-27 campaign – Mickey McConnell at Saint Mary’s, JR Blount at San Diego, and Griff Aldrich at Pepperdine.
Announced in July 2026 and beginning with the 2027-28 season, when UC San Diego and UC Santa Barbara are in their first year as competing members bringing full membership to 12, the conference will adopt an 18-game unbalanced schedule.
West Coast Conference men’s basketball teams earned three bids to the 2026 NCAA Tournament, marking multiple selections for a record seventh consecutive tournament and 12th time in the last 14 events. Saint Mary’s earned an NCAA bid for a record fifth consecutive season, while Santa Clara competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996. This marked the first time since 2022 and the fourth time in conference history (2022, 2012, 2008) the conference boasted three NCAA bids. In addition, Seattle U advanced to the second round in the NIT, giving the conference four postseason teams in 2025-26.
