Regular Season Champion LMU Top Seed In Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship

Tournament begins March 5 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Regular season champion LMU will be the No. 1 seed in the 2026 Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship, as the tournament bracket was unveiled Sunday.

The Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women’s Basketball Championship will begin Thursday, March 5, and run through Tuesday March 10 at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The first five rounds will be on ESPN+, while the championship game will be on ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:00 p.m. PT. For more information, including ticket packages click here.

LMU won the West Coast Conference regular season title for the second time in program history, after previously capturing 2003-04 title. The Lions entered Saturday tied with Gonzaga for first place. They claimed the regular season championship outright with an overtime victory at Oregon State, followed by a Gonzaga loss to Portland later in the day. LMU finished the conference slate 15-3 and will have a bye to Monday’s semifinal round.

Gonzaga is the No. 2 seed with a 14-4 record and will also play its first game in the semifinal round on Monday March 9. This is Gonzaga’s 10th consecutive year as a top-two seed in the tournament.

Santa Clara and Oregon State tied for third place in the regular season standings. The Broncos secured the No. 3 seed with an 83-70 win over the Beavers in their only meeting during the regular season to earn the head-to-head tiebreaker. Oregon State will be the No. 4 seed.

Portland’s overtime victory over Gonzaga Saturday improved the Pilots to 11-7 overall and secured the No. 5 seed.

Pepperdine finished 10-8, improving its conference win total by seven and its seeding by four from a year ago, as the Waves will be the No. 6 seed in this year’s tournament. San Francisco will be the No. 7 seed with a 9-9 conference record.

Pacific, Saint Mary’s and Washington State tied for eighth place in the standings with a 6-12 league record. Conference tiebreaker policies involving three or more teams place the teams in a pod comparing head-to-head results. The team with the best record, as determined by winning percentage even if unequal games in the conference’s unbalanced schedule, is seeded the highest and the team with the worst record is seeded the lowest. In the pod, Pacific and Washington State are both 2-1 (.667) against the others, while Saint Mary’s is 1-3 (.250). Saint Mary’s will be the No. 10 seed. With Pacific and Washington State owning the same record in the pod, tiebreaker policies move to head-to-head results. The Tigers defeated the Cougars, 65-53 in their lone matchup during the regular season and Pacific secured the No. 8 seed and Washington State the No. 9 seed.

San Diego (No. 11 seed) and Seattle U (No. 12 seed) round out the seeds.

The tournament will get underway Thursday at 12:00 p.m. PT as No. 9 seed Washington State faces No. 12 seed Seattle U, followed by No. 10 seed Saint Mary’s against No. 11 seed San Diego at 2:30 p.m. PT.

No. 8 seed Pacific will take on the winner of the Washington State-Seattle U contest Friday at 12:00 p.m. PT and No. 7 seed San Francisco will face the winner of the Saint Mary’s-San Diego game on Friday at 2:30 p.m. PT.

Saturday’s games feature No. 5 seed Portland against either Pacific, Washington State or Seattle U at 12:00 p.m. PT and No. 6 seed Pepperdine against either San Francico, Saint Mary’s or San Diego at 2:30 p.m. PT.

No. 3 seed Santa Clara and No. 4 seed Oregon State receive a bye to Sunday’s quarterfinal round. The Beavers will play their opening game of the tournament Sunday at 11:30 a.m. PT and the Broncos will begin tournament play Sunday at 2:00 p.m. PT.

No. 1 seed LMU and No. 2 seed Gonzaga will take the court at Orleans Arena in Monday’s semifinal round, with the Lions playing at 12:00 p.m. PT and the Bulldogs playing at 2:30 p.m. PT.

The first 10 games will be on ESPN+, with Tuesday’s championship game at 1:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
