LAS VEGAS - No. 4 Oregon State will have a chance to defend its conference tournament championship after knocking off No. 1 LMU in the semifinals of the Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Women's Basketball Championship from Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
With the victory, the Beavers advance to Tuesday's championship game to face either No. 2 seed Gonzaga or No. 3 seed Santa Clara.
Two Beavers reached 20 points in scoring to lead the way. Jenna Villa scored 22, while Ally Schimel posted 21. Kennedie Shuler contributed on the offensive end with seven assists.
For the Lions, Jess Lawson led all players with 25 points. She garnered a double-double with her 10 rebounds.
The Beavers shot nearly 50 percent from three-point distance with Schimel shooting 5-for-6 from behind the arc.
