SAN BRUNO, Calif. - The West Coast Conference is excited to embark on the Men's and Women's Basketball Road Show this fall, taking a new innovative approach to basketball media day. The conference will visit all 10 full-time campuses on two-day tours, showcasing the people, places and programs that define West Coast Conference men’s and women’s basketball. Hitting the road with the West Coast Conference will be national college basketball analyst Seth Davis who will host the men's and women's basketball shows on ESPN+. 
 
In place of a traditional basketball media day at a central location, the Conference will bring its storytelling directly to each campus, giving fans an inside look at each basketball program, its student-athletes, coaches, facilities and campus culture. The road show begins on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Saint Mary’s and will conclude on Friday, Oct. 9, at San Diego. 

Davis will host the men’s and women’s basketball shows on ESPN+, with the women's show airing on Oct. 14 and the men's show airing on Oct. 15. Davis will interview each head coach and two student-athletes from each team in the conference during each show.

Having Seth Davis, one of college basketball’s most respected national voices, join us for the inaugural road show will bring an added perspective to those conversations and help us share the people, personalities and stories that make WCC basketball special.”
 
Davis is an award-winning sportswriter and broadcaster and best-selling author, as well as a motivational speaker, teacher, leadership coach and kindness evangelist. Since 2004, Davis has been a mainstay during studio coverage of college basketball and the NCAA Tournament for CBS Sports and Turner Sports. Davis previously wrote for Sports Illustrated for 22 years and for The Athletic for six years, and he is currently Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Hoops HQ, a multimedia platform which covers college basketball. Most recently, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame honored Davis with the 2026 Curt Gowdy Award winner for excellence in print media.

In addition to a digital courtside seat at how each basketball team looks on the court, the road show will also tell stories about the culture of each program and the interesting personalities of the student-athletes. There will also be media availability during each visit for national and local media members to speak with each head coach and student-athletes. 
 
Last season a conference record seven women’s basketball teams earned postseason selections in the NCAA Tournament, Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) and Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT), surpassing the previous record of six which the conference set for the fifth time in 2024-25. Over the past two seasons, the West Coast Conference has earned 13 postseason bids in women’s basketball, the most in any two-year stretch in conference history. Among the postseason participants, Pepperdine and Portland each advanced to the WNIT Super 16. 

For a record seventh consecutive tournament and 12th time in the last 14 events, West Coast Conference men’s basketball teams earned multiple bids in the 2026 NCAA Tournament. Saint Mary’s earned an NCAA bid for a record fifth consecutive season. Santa Clara competed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1996. This marked the first time since 2022 (Gonzaga, Saint Mary’s, San Francisco) and the fourth time in conference history (2022, 2012, 2008) the conference boasted three NCAA bids. In addition, Seattle U advanced to the second round in the NIT, giving the conference four postseason teams.
