In August of the 2011, West Coast Commissioner Jamie Zaninovich announced the hiring of Forrest Eber to fill the role of Director of Business and Operations. As the Assisant Commissioner - Business and Administration, Eber is responsible for the conference's finance and budget initiatives in addition to oversight of a number of WCC internal operations and sport administration responsibilities.
Eber joined the West Coast Conference as the Director of Business and Operations after serving most recently as the Vice President for Administration at Dolan's, a fourth-generation family business in his native Sacramento. At Dolan's, Eber oversaw Finance, IT and Administration for the lumber, door and truss manufacturing facility, and he was also involved in the company's union labor negotiations. While at Dolan's, Eber was selected to the North State Building Industry's 2008 BUILD Young Leadership Program and was also appointed to the area business group's Economic Development Committee.
Prior to returning to Northern California to help run the family business, Eber worked at the U.S. Soccer Federation in Chicago. At U.S. Soccer, Eber served in the Office of Secretary General, overseeing a number of departments, including Human Resources, Membership Services and Youth National Teams, and working on special projects. One of his biggest challenges and successes came when he played a major role in the 2003 FIFA Women's World Cup after FIFA relocated the event to the US (due to the SARS Virus in China). Eber served on the three-person management team and supervised Venue Operations, Competition Operations and Team Operations of the Women's World Cup, which became the most profitable women's sporting event ever staged.
Eber's diverse sports administration experience also includes working at the 1999 FIFA Women's World Cup, 1999 Pan-American Games, 2000 Summer Olympics, 2002 FIFA World Cup, 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup and multiple FIFA World Championships.
Additionally, Eber also serves as the Chief Reimbursement Award Officer for Help Mito Kids, Inc., and he has actively assisted the Reno Tahoe Winter Games Coalition in their quest to bring a future Winter Olympics to the Tahoe area.
Eber graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelor's degree in economics. He resides in Half Moon Bay with his wife Kimberly.
