Miquel Jacobs joined the West Coast Conference in December 2015 as the Assistant Director of Communications and Creative Services.
Jacobs came to the conference after spending the previous three seasons at Cal where he worked with the Golden Bears women’s basketball team that advanced to the 2012-13 NCAA Final Four. In three seasons promoting the women’s basketball program under Lindsay Gottlieb, Jacobs oversaw four players selected in the WNBA Draft, including three first round selections.
Prior to Cal, Jacobs spent five years at the University of South Carolina where he served as the primary media relations contact for the nationally-ranked women’s soccer, track & field and equestrian programs. In Columbia, Jacobs implemented and managed the daily maintenance of social media while also pioneering the use of on-site video coverage in the department.
In addition to his work at Cal and South Carolina, Jacobs has provided gameday public relations coverage for the San Jose Earthquakes, Major League Soccer and Soccer United Marketing, the San Francisco 49ers and the US Soccer Federation at events held throughout the Bay Area.
A native of Columbia, S.C., Jacobs earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in public relations in May 2007 and continued coursework towards a master’s degree in sport management while spending one year as a graduate assistant in the South Carolina athletics department.
