Men's Head Coach Dick Davey

As the longest tenured coach in the West Coast Conference, Dick Davey plays a major role in the lives of nearly everyone connected to Santa Clara University. He personifies the school's "family" environment and has earned the respect of current and former players and his peers. After completing his 14th season as the head coach at Santa Clara in 2005-06, Davey's list of coaching accomplishments since he took charge of the Santa Clara program is nothing short of sensational: Three NCAA Tournament appearances; three West Coast Conference regular season championships; one WCC Tournament title; four wins over Top 25 teams; and three conference coach of the year awards. He is also a member of the prestigious board of directors for the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

Women's Head Coach Michelle Bento-Jackson

Santa Clara University head women's basketball coach Michelle Bento-Jackson begins her fifth year at the helm of the Bronco program. The Mountain View, Calif., native was appointed as the seventh head coach in the school's 38-year women's basketball history in June 2002. In 2005-06, Bento-Jackson guided the Broncos to a 19-12 record and an 11-3 mark in West Coast Conference play, which gave the team its first WCC regular-season title since the 1998-99 season. The team also qualified for the WNIT, marking the third time in her four seasons that Bento-Jackson had guided the team to the postseason. Bento-Jackson was named the WCC Coach of the Year for her efforts.
