Connie Hurlbut is in her sixth year at the West Coast Conference. She was elevated to Executive Associate Commissioner by Commissioner Stu Jackson in September of 2023.

Hurlbut, who joined the WCC as a Senior Associate Commissioner in 2017, serves as the Executive Associate Commissioner, Senior Woman Administrator, Governance & Compliance, and Women’s Basketball administrator. She has also served as the WCC's Interim Commissioner on two seperate occassions, most recently from Dec. 2022 to April 2023. 

Hurlbut oversees women’s basketball and the Conference’s operations relating to governance, compliance, as well as NCAA and institutional relations. She also serves as an operations officer, monitoring project execution across all areas and supervising new hires within the Conference office.

She provides support to the Presidents' and Executive Councils and all head coaches' groups, along with her role as the Conference's senior woman administrator.

She served as the Tournament Director for the WCC Men's And Women's Basketball Tournament from 2019-2022. Her efforts have included spearheading the Conference's 2020-25 Strategic Plan and 2022 Gender Equity review. 

Hurlbut recently concluded a five-year term on the NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Committee, including three years as chair. Some of her other NCAA Committee service include - the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Committee, Chair of Administrative Committee (now the Nominating Committee), the NCAA Division I Council and the NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Oversight Committee. She also served on the Board of Directors for the Women’s Basketball Coaches’ Association. 

Prior to her arrival at the WCC, Hurlbut served as Deputy Commissioner at the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). In that role, Hurlbut managed the WAC's championships, governance, compliance and finance. Hurlbut served on several national cabinets and councils -- including her current posts on both the NCAA Division I Council and NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Oversight Committee. She also served as Associate Executive Director of the Ivy League.

Before joining the WAC, Hurlbut has served in various roles across conference offices. She became the first woman to head a Division I conference, serving as the Executive Director of the Patriot League from 1993-1999. She was recently named one of the Patriot League's Trailblazers of Distinction During the 50th Anniversary of Title IX. 

Hurlbut has experience working in professional sports, including a stint as the Senior Director of Basketball Operations at the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) from 1999-2002.

Hurlbut earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband, Steve, and has a son, Jack, and a daughter, Maggie.
