Dave Ford serves as the Director of Basketball & Conference Operations for the West Coast Conference. He joined the conference in the fall of 2023 as the Director of Operations for the Conference.
Ford manages several areas, including the administration of officiating assignments, schedules, video exchange, video review, data analysis and the implementation of bench technology in men’s and women’s basketball. He also provides support at championship events, special functions, and assists in the successful execution of conference-wide initiatives.
Ford has utilized models to help provide important data to analyze men’s and women’s basketball performance and assist in the development of strategies to better position the conference for success. He also serves as the sport administrator for men’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country and women’s rowing.
Prior to joining the WCC, Ford served as the Director of Men’s Basketball Operations and Player Development at the University of California, Berkeley for four seasons. He was the program’s chief of staff, overseeing all operations within the program. Ford collaborated with several units across Cal’s athletic department on initiatives to support the men’s basketball program. He was nominated for the Cal Athletics Emerging Leaders program in 2022.
He spent two years on the men’s basketball staff at the University of Texas, and served in an operations role for the Villanova men’s basketball program for four seasons from 2013-17.
In addition to his experience at the collegiate level, Ford spent several years working with USA Basketball, where he managed operational responsibilities during FIBA events around the world.
A 2017 graduate of Villanova with a degree in psychology, he earned a Master of Education in sport management from Texas in 2019.
