Lauren Gilligan serves as the Assistant Commissioner for Championships and Sport Administration. She was elevated to an Assistant Commissioner in August 2022.
Gilligan serves as the tournament director for the WCC Basketball and Baseball Tournament and championship manager for WCC Men’s Golf and Women’s Golf. Gilligan serves as the WCC Sport Administrator for Men’s Soccer, Women’s Soccer, Men’s Golf and Women’s Golf. Gilligan served as the Tournament Manager when the WCC hosted the NCAA Division I Women’s College Cup at Avaya Stadium in 2021 and 2019 and was set to serve in this role for the NCAA Men’s Basketball 1st and 2nd rounds in 2021 in San Jose prior to its covid-19 relocation. Gilligan manages WCC championships operations, including the WCC awards, court and signage programs.
She joined the West Coast Conference staff in October of 2016 as the Assistant Director of Championships and Sport Administration.
Gilligan comes to the WCC from the NCAA where she served as an NCAA Postgraduate Intern in Championships at the National Office in Indianapolis. Prior to her position with the NCAA, Lauren worked as a Game Operations graduate assistant for the University of the Incarnate Word athletic department.
A native of Boise, Idaho, Gilligan was a women’s soccer student-athlete at the University of Evansville, where she earned her degree in sport management in 2014. She interned with the University of Evansville athletic department, Evansville Sports Corporation (ESC) and the Denver Outlaws during her undergrad days.
