CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
SAN BRUNO, Calif. -- The 2016 West Coast Conference All-Academic team features ten top scholar-athletes including three making a repeat appearance. Pepperdine's Ben Fox makes his third straight all-academic team, while San Francisco's Mohamed Aziz and Portland's Timo Goehler appear for the second straight year.
This season, 23 nominated men's cross country student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better, nine of those 23 recorded a mark of 3.75 or higher. One student-athlete, Loyola Marymount's Benjamin Davis, posted a 4.00 GPA. Seven student-athletes make their debut on the all-academic first team.
At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to his team.
