Four WCC Duos Selected To Collegiate Beach Championships

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Two Beach Volleyball pairs from three-time defending West Coast Conference Champion Pepperdine, along with one pair each from Loyola Marymount and Saint Mary's were selected to compete at the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships this weekend in Hermosa Beach, California.

The Waves will send their dynamic duos of Corinne Quiggle/Deahna Kraft and Madelyn Roh/Brook Bauer up north. Quiggle, Kraft and Bauer are the current WCC Player, Defender and Freshman of the year respectively. 2018 WCC runner up Saint Mary's will Lindsey Knudsen and Emily Bible, while Loyola Marymount's pair of Savannah Slattery and Madelon Leiphardt will also make the short trip.

In all, seven of the eight players competing were selected to All-WCC squads this year. Five players - Quiggle, Knudsen, Slattery, Roh and Kraft - competed in last year's inaugural Championships.

Pepperdine is coming off yet another NCAA Tournament appearance and its seventh straight postseason, entering last week's tournament in Gulf Shores, Alabama as the No. 2 seed before being eliminated by USC in a rematch of last year's national championship match.

The event will begin on May 10 will pool play, continuing May 12 with the women's semifinal and medal matches.
