SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 21, 2019.
 
WEST COAST CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – FRANKIE FERRARI, SR., G – SAN FRANCISCO
Senior guard Frankie Ferrari continues to be the catalyst in the Dons stellar season.  While battling strep throat, the senior guard led the Dons to another 2-0 week, helping USF improve to 16-3 and 4-1 in the WCC.  The 4-1 start by the Dons is their first since the 2013-14 season. 
 
For the week, Ferrari led the Dons with 28 points, averaging 14.0 a game, while dishing out 4.5 assists.  He shot 47.8 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from 3-point range.  Against BYU on Saturday, Ferrari was at his best.  He finished with a team-high 21 points, 18 in the second half.  He shot an astounding 72.7 percent from the field going 8-for-11, he also shot 66.7 from 3-point range going 4-for-6 from beyond the arc while dishing out seven assists, helping the Dons snap an 11-game losing streak against the Cougars. His 21 points tied a season-high.
