WCC Presents 2019 Volleyball All-Academic Team

Four student-athletes earned All-District 8 honors; two make third straight academic team

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference is pleased to announce the 2019 West Coast Conference Volleyball All-Academic Team. The group is headlined by four student-athletes earning 2019 Academic All-District 8 honors.

Three BYU student-athletes qualified for the all-district second team list: Kennedy Eschenberg, WCC Libero of the Year Mary Lake, and Riley Lyman.
Pepperdine’s Hannah Frohling also earned a spot on the second team.

It is the second straight all-district honors for Frohling and Lake. In addition, both student-athletes earn WCC All-Academic honors for the third time in their respective careers. BYU’s Kennedy Eschenberg makes her second straight appearance on the list.

This season, 23 nominated volleyball student-athletes posted a GPA of 3.50 or better while 12 recorded a mark of 3.75 or higher.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while also being a significant contributor to her team.
