San Diego Can't Escape Kansas State In First Round of NCAA Tournament

Nemo Beach tabbed with AVCA honorable mention All-America honors

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – After winning the 2025 West Coast Conference Volleyball Championship for the first time since 2022, No. 8 seed San Diego hung in tough against Kansas State in the Lincoln regional but fell in five sets to the Wildcats. 

This marked the 104th all-time berth in the NCAA Tournament for the West Coast Conference.

USD finished the regular season with an overall record of 25-4 and the Toreros went undefeated in conference play for the first time since 2022 when they advanced to the national semifinals. San Diego finished the season winning 19 of its last 21 matches. 

Nemo Beach picked up AVCA All-America honorable mention honors. The West Coast Conference Player of the Year, Beach led the conference in kills per set (4.05).

USD went 12-1 in true road matches, including a non-conference win at Washington and the first conference meeting vs. Pepperdine in Malibu.
