SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for October 25, 2021.
#WCCSPORTS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – GURMAN SANGHA, SR., MIDFIELDER – PORTLAND
Senior midfielder Gurman Sangha had the game-winning goal in Portland's 1-0 victory over the No. 15 LMU Lions. His decisive strike gave Pilots their first win over a ranked opponent this season. It was also Sangha's first goal this season and in his Pilot career.
It is the first WCC weekly offensive honor for Sangha this season and the second for the Pilots in 2021. Alejandro Pereira secured week seven honors for Portland.

#WCCSPORTS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – GEORGE TASOURIS, SR., GK – PORTLAND
Senior goalkeeper George Tasouris had six saves in Portland's 1-0 overtime victory over the No. 15 Loyola Marymount Lions, including a critical one-on-one save in the first half. It was the second time this season that he posted at least six saves in a game this year and it counts for his fifth shutout of the season.
Tasouris now tops in the WCC in save percentage at .808. His play in goal helped the Pilots earn their first win against a ranked opponent this season.
It is the second defensive weekly honor for Tasouris this season, with the first coming in week three. It is the third defensive accolade for the Pilots in 2021.
