SAN MATEO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named its Men’s Soccer Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week for September 20, 2021.
#WCCSPORTS OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – DYLAN BARTLETT, SO., F – SANTA CLARA
Sophomore forward Dylan Bartlett scored a pair of goals in the two Santa Clara men's soccer wins over the weekend. The sophomore from Palos Verdes, California had the game winner in the 2-1 victory over Houston Baptist on Tuesday night, breaking a 1-1 tie in the 86th minute. Julian Bravo threaded the ball from near midfield between two Husky defenders to Bartlett who got behind the defense to slot it low past goalkeeper JP Becerra for his first game winning goal of his career. On Sunday, Bartlett found the back of the net in the 49th minute to tally the second goal in the 2-0 victory over Dixie State.

#WCCSPORTS DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – JACOB JACKSON, JR., GK – LMU
Junior goalkeeper Jacob Jackson made six saves, including one in the first session of extra time, to keep the game knotted at zero allowing Loyola Marymount to score the game-winner in the second session for a 1-0 result on Friday night. Jackson spent 108 minutes in net against UC Santa Barbara and saw 13 shots for his third clean sheet of the season.
