SAN MATEO, Calif. – Portland swept the WCC Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards this week with Gurman Sangha garnering Offensive Player of the Week and Kevin Bonilla earning Defensive Player of the Week. The accolades are the Pilots' first of the 2022 season.
WCC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – GURMAN SANGHA, SR., F – PORTLAND
Sangha notched one goal and three assists in two games for the Pilots last weekend. He assisted on all three goals against Indiana, helping the Pilots secure a tie against a ranked squad. He is the first Pilot with three assists against a Division I opponent since Rey Ortiz in 2017. Sangha followed that performance by scoring the game-winning goal against Cal Poly, a 5-0 victory.

WCC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – KEVIN BONILLA, SO., D – PORTLAND
Bonilla played the second-most minutes of any Pilot defender lat weekend, and he was the only Pilot defender to earn an assist, doing so against Cal Poly. Bonilla helped the Pilots earn their first shutout of the year against the Mustangs, as well. The Pilots are unbeaten through their first three games for the first time since 2018.
